As part of our Social Studies unit about Assembly Line Production, we studied the Crayola factory. We read the book, "Crayons from Start to Finish," and watched the PBS Mr. Rogers video. We also read color poems and discussed how color makes us use our 5 senses.
Our book was made by creating a cover that looked like a crayon box. It was attached at the bottom and opened at the top, as a crayon box would. Each page of the book was using a color of a crayon and writing what it looked like, smelled like, felt like, tasted like. etc. For example: Magenta looks like radishes, smells like berry juice, tastes like a dripping raspberry popsicle, and feels like a queen's velvet robe.
