Today we learned about how Dr. Seuss drew trees. After looking at trees in his books and on a google search we found actual trees that he used to base his drawings on. It was interesting to see how the real thing could be adapted with the use of imagination. Each child made a composition of Seuss like trees with pencil. These were then outlined in black marker and colored with markers. Then, here's where Eric Carle comes in- tissue paper over the treetops using a watered down white glue brushed on the tissue paper. For fun, I had some small sparkly pom poms that were glued on to add dimension.
