People that Really Were at the First Thanksgiving books

After reading, "The Pilgrims and Me ,"by Judy Donnelly, we wrote sentences about Pilgrims and Native Americans that really were at the first Thanksgiving. Some people we chose were:Squanto, Massasoit, William Bradford, Captain Myles Standish, etc.

 The last page was Thanksgiving 2012 with a self portrait and story about how they were going to spend Thanksgiving. For each character, we drew a portrait with the text.

The cover was a self portrait drawn to look like a Pilgrim. The picture was drawn, cut out and glued on photographs of a pumpkin field.

The end pages were drawings of how to plant corn as Squanto taught the Pilgrims.

We also read Mary Pope Osborne's book, "Thanksgiving on Thursday," from the Magic Tree House series.
